The all new Leica DISTO D3 is the next generation in laser measuring devices with a built-in Tilt Sensor for indirect height measuring and vertical angle measurements.

The DISTO D3 with new Tilt Sensor not only indicates vertical angle measurements, but also can obtain real horizontal distances when the target is obstructed, and perform various indirect height measurements.  Angle, Slope and Pitch can be measured simply by placing the body of the DISTO D3 on the slope itself or aligning it at the desired angle.  Not for measuring horizontal angles.

Incorporating Leica Geosystems’ exclusive Power Range Technology, the DISTO D3 can take measurements with ±1/16 in. (1.5 mm) accuracy out to approximately 262 ft. (80 m) without a target plate, and up to 328 ft. (100 m) with a target plate. The multifunctional end piece makes it easy to measure from edges or corners and the system automatically recognizes the point of reference. The rugged housing is splash-proof and dust-proof for reliable operation on outdoor construction jobs.

The Leica DISTO D3 is a multi-functional instrument to ensure simple, quick and reliable measurements. You can measure distances with absolute accuracy, past obstructions and determine angles quickly and precisely. The integrated tilt sensor also provides you with a horizontal distance measurement. Another sensor detects the lighting conditions and automatically switches on the display and keypad illumination. You can rely on your Leica DISTO D3 while working in the dark.

Tilt measurement
The instruments built in tilt sensor quickly and simply determines tilts up to ± 45°. The tilt sensor can also provide you with true horizontal distances. Reliable measurements are therefore guaranteed.

Multifunctional end piece
Aim the instrument straight at the target point, whether measuring out of corners, slots or from edges: with this end piece you are prepared for all measuring situations. The instrument detects the end piece automatically, which helps you avoid expensive measuring errors.

Automatic keypad and display illumination
A built-in sensor detects if the environment is dark and switches on the illumination of the keypad and display. You can also measure in the dark without any problem.

Multiple functions
The Leica DISTO D3 can also calculate areas, volumes, room dimensions and various types of Pythagorean functions. A time delay release and enough memory for up to 20 measurements finish off the instruments wide range of functions – a concept designed to make your work easier.

Included items - practical and clever:
Holster: Stows everything away neatly.
Target plate: Allows accurate measurement on a non-reflective surface.
Wrist strap: Secures the instrument at all heights.
